RRB NTPC exam pattern 2023 - The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) exam at the pan-India level and it prescribes the RRB NTPC 2023 exam pattern and will be mentioned it in the official notification. RRB NTPC exam pattern 2023 - CBT 1

Aspirants who successfully submit the RRB NTPC application form 2023, are eligible to appear in the RRB NTPC CBT 1 exam. The RRB NTPC CBT 1 exam is conducted in computer-based online mode. The questions in the RRB NTPC tier 1 will be based on subjects such as Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning and General Awareness. In the RRB NTPC CBT 1 there will be a penalty for wrong answers attempted by the candidate. No marks will be deducted if the question is left blank or unattempted.

The time duration for PWD candidates is 120 Minutes. The tier 1 is a screening test and the standard of questions are generally in conformity with the educational standards prescribed for the posts. Total candidates shortlisted will be 20 times the community wise vacancies. RRB will use the normalization method to calculate the score and will be used for shortlisting candidates for CBT 2 as per their merit. RRB NTPC exam pattern 2023 - CBT 2

Candidates who qualify in CBT 1 will be eligible to appear in CBT 1. As per the exam pattern of RRB NTPC 2023, CBT 2 will also be conducted in computer based online mode, however, the difficulty level will be slightly higher as compared to CBT 1. The number of questions asked in CBT 2 will be increased in CBT 2. From the following table, candidates can check the information of the RRB NTPC exam pattern 2023 for CBT 2.

In the RRB NTPC CBT 2, the exam duration for PWD candidates is 120 minutes and there will be negative marking of 1/3. The level of questions will be different for the different levels of posts. RRB NTPC exam pattern 2023 - Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

The RRB NTPC CBAT is the third stage in the recruitment process. As per the RRB NTPC 2023 exam pattern, only candidates who have opted for Traffic Assistant and Station Master will have to appear in the CBAT. The qualifying marks in the RRB NTPC CBAT is a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify.

This is applicable to all candidates irrespective of community or category and no relaxation will be given to aspirants in the minimum T- Score. Candidates will have to qualify in each of the test batteries of CBAT. The CBAT shall have questions and answer options only in English and Hindi. There is no negative marking. The final merit list will be drawn from amongst the candidates qualifying in CBAT, with 70% weightage given for marks obtained by candidates in the CBT 2 and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in CBAT.

RRB NTPC exam pattern 2023 - Typing Skill Test (TST)

The typing test is also part of the stage 3 of the RRB NTPC. The typing test is for aspirants who apply for all other posts other than the Traffic Assistant and Station Master. The typing test is qualifying in nature and candidates eight times the total number of vacancies will be called for the typing test. As per the exam pattern of RRB NTPC 2023, candidates will have to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi without editing tools and spell check facility to qualify.

RRB NTPC 2023 exam pattern - Document Verification (DV)

As per the RRB NTPC 2023 exam pattern, this is the last stage of the recruitment process. Based on aspirants performance in CBT 2 and CBAT/TST (as applicable), candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for document verification as per their merit. In the DV, they will have to produce all their documents which will be verified, these documents include the educational qualifications, reservation certificates (as applicable), EWS certificate (as applicable) etc.

Any forgery in the certificates during the DV, will lead to the debarment of the aspirant and might also attract strong legal actions against them. Shortlisted candidates will then be called for the medical test, post which they will be recruited on the vacant posts.

RRB NTPC syllabus 2023

Apart from the RRB NTPC 2023 exam pattern, aspirants must also check the syllabus in order to prepare for the exam efficiently. The Railway Recruitment Board prescribes the syllabus of RRB NTPC and mentions it in the official notification. The syllabus is prescribed for all the stages of the i.e. CBT 1, 2 and CBAT. The syllabus will help candidates in understanding the type of questions asked in the exam, subjects and topics to study and more. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) releases the answer key of RRB NTPC in two phases - provisional and final. Candidates can download the RRB NTPC answer key PDF using their registration number and date of birth. The answer key is released separately for CBT 1 and 2.
