Paper 1 comprising General Medicine and Pediatrics will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and paper 2 which includes (a) Surgery (b) Genecology & Obstetrics (c) Preventive & Social Medicine will be conducted from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. UPSC had closed the application withdrawal window for CMS 2021 on August 09, 2021. UPSC activated the UPSC CMS 2021 application withdrawal link on August 3. UPSC earlier released the Combined Medical Services (CMS) 2021 notification in online mode on July 7, 2021. Along with the UPSC notification, the application form of UPSC CMS 2021 was available from July 7 to 27, 2021. Candidates who have qualified the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. examination or appearing for the final year are eligible to apply for UPSC CMS 2021 exam. Union Public Service Commission conducts the UPSC CMS exam to recruit candidates for the post of Assistant Medical Officer in Department/Ministries of the Indian Government.

UPSC CMS Result 2021

UPSC will release the Combined Medical Services Examination Result 2021 a few weeks after the conclusion of the exam on the official website - Candidates shortlisted in the CBE will be eligible to appear for personality tests. UPSC CMS result 2021 will be available in PDF format. After the personality test is conducted, UPSC will declare the list of candidates finally qualified in both the stages of the exam. The final result of UPSC CMS will be prepared by adding the marks of the CBE and personality test.

UPSC CMS 2021 Exam pattern

UPSC prescribes the syllabus as well as the exam pattern of UPSC CMS. Candidates eligible to apply for the UPSC CMS exam are advised to understand the exam pattern to know the sections, topics, marking scheme, types of questions and subjects on which the question papers will be based. UPSC CMS 2021 consists of 2 stages – written exam (CBE )and personality test. As per the UPSC CMS exam pattern, the CBE will be conducted for 500 marks while the personality test will consist of 100 marks. UPSC CMS 2021 written exam will have 2 papers - paper 1 (General Medicine and Paediatrics) and paper 2 (Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics and Preventive & Social Medicine). Each paper will have a time duration of 2 hours. Both the papers of written exam will be conducted for 250 marks each.

UPSC CMS Eligibility Criteria 2021

The eligibility criteria of UPSC CMS 2021 is defined by UPSC. Candidates appearing for UPSC CMS 2021 exam must fulfil the eligibility criteria. Check the detailed UPSC CMS eligibility criteria below.

Educational Qualification - Candidates must have completed or appearing final year of MBBS examination

Nationality - Indian, or Bhutan, or Nepal, or Indian origin migrants who have settled permanently in India from East African Countries of Uganda, Kenya, Pakistan, United Republic of Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Zaire, Burma, or Tibetan refugee who settled in India permanently before January 1, 1962, with the certificate issued by Government of India

UPSC CMS 2021 Application Form

UPSC CMS application withdrawal window is activated on August 3. Earlier UPSC had released the CMS application form on July 7, 2021. The last date to submit the application form was July 27, 2021. The UPSC CMS application form was available in two parts. In Part 1, candidates need to register themselves by entering their details like candidates’ name, father’s name, category etc while in part 2 of the application filling process mode of online payment, selection of UPSC CMS exam centre and final submission of the application form was available.

Steps to fill the UPSC CMS Application Form 2021

UPSC CMS 2021 Registration Part 1- Fill personal details like - Candidate's Name, Mother’s Name, Father’s name, Academic qualification, mobile number and submit the application form.

UPSC CMS 2021 Registration Part 2- In the second part of the registration process, log in using their ID and password. In Part 2, the mode of payment was to be selected along with the choice of exam centre and upload the scanned photograph (20 kb to 300 kb) and signature (20 kb to 300 kb).

UPSC CMS Selection Process

The selection process of UPSC CMS comprises two stages - Computer-based test and personal interview. UPSC CMS CBT comprises two papers of 250 marks each. Candidates who clear the CMS computer-based test will be called for a personal interview. The final result will be released on the basis of combined performance in CBT and personal interview

UPSC CMS Answer Key 2021

UPSC will release the answer key of UPSC CMS 2021 on its website after the final result is declared. The answer key will be released for CBE written exam. With the help of the answer key candidates can check the correct/incorrect responses made by them in the exam and calculate their probable score.

UPSC CMS 2021 Cut off

UPSC prescribes the cut off marks of CMS. To qualify each stage of the UPSC CMS exam, candidates must score the cut off marks also known as the minimum marks set by the commission. The cut off marks for the written exam will be calculated out of 500 marks. Candidates who score the cut off marks in CBE will be eligible to appear for the personality test. Candidates selected in the personality test will be eligible for final recruitment.
