GATE Counselling 2019

GATE Counselling 2019 – Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has released the GATE 2019 score card on March 19. Students who have qualified GATE 2019 can download their score card by logging in to GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). IIT Madras has earlier announced the GATE 2019 result on March 15 for all the 24 papers. The GATE 2019 exam was conducted on February 2, 3, 9 and 10 in morning and afternoon shift for all the 24 subjects. Students who had appeared in exam must note that there is no centralized counselling process for admission in M. Tech for GATE qualified candidates. IIT Madras is only the conducting authority of GATE 2019 exam and will not conduct any counselling for the admission. Candidates will have apply individually to the desired college for admissions since there is no common counselling of GATE 2019. Candidates who wish to apply for M.Tech courses into IITs will have to apply through the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) and for NITs, IIITs and CFTIs through Centralized Counselling for M.Tech (CCMT). Highlights of GATE Counselling 2019

  • GATE does not conduct a centralized counselling process.

  • Admission into IITs and IISC Bangalore is done on the basis of GATE 2019 scores.

  • M.Tech admissions into NITs, IIITs and CFTIs are also done through GATE.

  • However, some IITs do offer direct M.Tech admission if the candidates have completed B.Tech degree from an IIT with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 (on a scale of 10).

  • Some IITs may also conduct a written test or interview according to the department they are applying for.

M.Tech Admissions into IITs through GATE 2019 
Since there is no centralized counselling for GATE qualified candidates, they will have to apply individually for admissions. For M.Tech courses in IITs, the candidates will have to register through Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP), which is a common platform for the candidates to apply for their preferred IITs. Admission offers are provided through COAP and the candidates will have to select their preferred offer. COAP registrations will be open tentatively after the result of GATE is announced.

M.Tech Admissions into NITs, IIITs and CFTIs through GATE 2019

Centralized Counselling for M.Tech (CCMT) will be the pathway through which candidates can apply for admissions into NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. The application form of CCMT will be available tentatively from the first week of April 2018. Filling of course and institute choices have to be done by the candidates after which allotment will be done according to the candidates’ rank in GATE exam and preferences selected during CCMT registration.

M.Tech Admissions into IISc Bangalore through GATE 2019

Before the GATE result is announced, IISc Bangalore will conduct their admission process on the basis of GATE scores. Preferred colleges and courses have to submitted by the candidates while filling the application form. All of the eligibility criteria has to be met by the candidates before applying.

M.Tech Admissions into State Universities through GATE 2019

State Universities will be conducting their separate counselling sessions tentatively from March till July 2019. Separate application forms will have to be filled by the candidates according to the institute they are applying for. The selection process will depend upon the institutes individually,
