Admission Procedure for IITs through GATE
GATE does not have a centralized counselling process. The candidates will have to individually apply for admission at their preferred Indian Institute of Technology. While some IITs take direct admission on the basis of GATE scores, there are some institutes who will also conduct an additional entrance test or interview to review the candidate’s qualifications. GATE Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) is a common platform where the candidates will have to register for IIT admissions after applying individually. The candidates will be able to check the list of admission offers in one platform and accordingly select their preference.
Important Points about IITs, M.Tech courses and GATE Cutoff for IITs
GATE 2023 will be conducted on February 4, 5, 11 and 12.
M.Tech admissions will commence tentatively in April.
Each IIT will be responsible for preparing and releasing its own cutoff.
