Tips to crack JEE Advanced
Here are some tips and JEE Advanced preparation strategies to crack the exam.
Keep the company of good books to get a good result!
How much harder one tries, if the study material and preparation is not up to the mark, there is a good chance things may go wrong. For example, if you buy a book that covers a specific subject's topics but uses difficult language, you might be forced to move at a snail’s pace. Then other books are easy to understand but contain many mistakes that are enough to sabotage your JEE Advanced 2024 plans.
Now it is incomprehensible to make wholesome changes to the books you are already following. But if there are areas that need some tweaking here & there is no harm in bolstering them with the right book or two.

NCERT Books Are For All Seasons
If there are a couple of topics where you lag conceptually, your first stop for building concepts should be NCERT books, which are generally easy to follow and mostly error-free. Besides, they have officially endorsed textbooks for CBSE 10+ 2 exam.
Other reasons why NCERT Books are indispensable
- Contain illustrations making it fun and easier to understand difficult concepts
- There are exercises at the end of every chapter which is designed to edify concepts included in that chapter
- Important points that the candidate needs to remember are highlighted for easy reference. So, if the candidate needs to do a quick revision, he/she can simply go through the highlighted points

Don’t burn all your fuel before exam day
A common mistake students make is they prepare so hard in the last few days, forgoing sleep and food, that by the time the exam day arrives, they are in the worst physical and mental condition. Consequently, at the exam, they make one silly mistake after another and tend to panic at the slightest trouble. To avoid such a fate, it is necessary to rest properly and eat healthy food so that you are in peak health and mental condition on exam day. When you are happy and relaxed, you can see things clearly and handle even the most difficult of situations with a cool head.
So, how do you relax and stay happy during these stressful days?
You can just about do anything that makes you forget about the exam. Like you can play with your pets, go for a light jog in the morning, watch a comedy show, or engage in lively chatter with your mom or sister.
Don’t think too far ahead
There is no doubt with JEE Advanced the stakes are very high: there is an IIT seat to be won or lost. But you don’t achieve your dreams by daydreaming. Instead, you have to be in the present, prepare hard, and also rate your progress on a day-to-day basis.
If you race ahead of time and dream of getting admission into, say, IITB, you are building unnecessary expectations and putting yourself under pressure. A more effective strategy is to follow the mantra: work hard and results will follow.
Get familiar with JEE Advanced Exam Pattern 2024

Doing sample papers will help the candidate work on time management and accuracy. It may be noted that to be successful in JEE Advanced, it is simply not enough to be fast, but he/she must also be accurate.
Note: Sample papers on their own aren’t enough to build accuracy, but they can build on what the candidate has learned from the textbook and practice sets.
Don’t let self-doubt creep in
Always believe in your abilities and stay away from naysayers. Believing in oneself also means being positive, which in turn would help you stay relaxed. If you make a few mistakes when doing a problem, don’t get disheartened, but be optimistic that you at least now know where errors are happening. Plug those holes and you may not make that mistake on exam day. As the adage goes: See the glass as half full, not half empty!!
Make it a habit to take notes when studying
The small notes you take when reading a book or when solving a problem are very handy when doing revision. To begin with, it is a collection of points that are tailor-made for you (after all it is you who have compiled it), Second, the notes will help you simply go through the important points without having to go through huge blocks of text. With exam day getting closer and closer, there may be many sections that you could do without having to spend so much time and energy.
