Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2021 - Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will start the counselling of Karnataka PGCET 2021 on the official website. All the shortlisted candidates will have to register for Karnataka PGCET 2021 counselling in online mode only. The authorities will issue the high-security key for Karnataka PGCET choice filling post document verification. Candidates will have to log in to the official Karnataka PGCET 2021 counselling web portal using a high-security key and fill and lock their choices of institutes/colleges and courses in order of their preference. They must note that Karnataka PGCET counselling 2021 will be done for the candidates shortlisted on the basis of a merit list prepared by the exam authorities based on the score in GATE/ Karnataka PGCET exam. Candidates will be able to apply for admission either through GATE or PGCET score however, exam authorities will provide 1st preference to GATE qualified applicants. Candidates who will apply through GATE 2021 score had to register for Karnataka PGCET 2021, however, they are exempted from the entrance test. Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2021 - Eligibility Criteria

Candidates following mentioned below Karnataka PGCET 2021 eligibility criteria for counselling process will be eligible:

  • Students should have passed qualifying degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved category)

  • Candidates with valid GATE 2021 score will be eligible to apply. Also, such candidates must have filled and register for Karnataka PGCET 2021

  • Names of the candidates should appear in Karnataka PGCET 2021 merit list (GATE and PGCET merit list will be prepared separately. Preference will be given to GATE 2021 qualified candidates)

  • Candidates seeking admission in M Tech/ME (Part Time) should have work experience of not less than 3 years.

Note: GATE qualified candidates need not to appear in Karnataka PGCET 2021 test but should fill online application form

Karnataka PGCET 2021 Counselling - Important Tips

Candidates who will be applying for admission through Karnataka PGCET 2021 counselling process must keep following points in mind:

  • Candidates will have to visit the Karnataka PGCET counselling 2021 help centres as per their rank and schedule only.

  • Students will have to carry all the requisite documents, both original and xerox copies for verification to the help centres.

  • They are advised to fill choices in order of their preference. Karnataka PGCET 2021 seats allotment will be done only as per the choices filled based on the rank and category of students. Also, They should check and lock their choices before the last date.

  • Candidates who will be allotted a seat in any round should download the provisional seat allotment letter and visit the allotted institute within the specified time.

  • Students who do not visit the allotted institute within the date mentioned in the provisional Karnataka PGCET seat allotment letter will themselves be liable for cancellation of their seats.

  • Students who will be allotted a seat in the 1st round but wish to participate in the second round of counselling of Karnataka PGCET 2021 will have to first confirm the seat by the payment of the seat acceptance fees at the help centre.

  • For claiming reservation under any category, they should submit proper certificates duly attested by prior authority.

  • Income certificate for claiming fee waiver must be recent and obtained from competent authority on or after 01.01.2021

  • Applicants who will be applying for admission through GATE 2021 score, non-Karnataka candidates and PwD candidates will have to visit Bangalore help centre for the verification of documents.

  • Candidates who will be applying for admission through GATE score will be required to apply online for the Karnataka PGCET 2021, however, they need not to appear in the entrance test.

Karnataka PGCET Counselling Procedure 2021

Candidates will have to follow the procedure below while appearing for PGCET counselling 2021:

Karnataka PGCET Registration:

Students who will be applying for admission will have to visit the help centre for registration as per their ranks and schedule. The exam authorities will set up help centres across the state for all the processes regarding registration and counselling. Registration will be done using PGECET 2021 application number where candidates will have to submit all the details as requested. During the process of registration, candidates will be briefed on further counselling procedure by the officials conducting counselling of Karnataka PGCET 2021.

Document Verification:

Document verification will be done at the designated centre after successful registration of Karnataka PGCET 2021 is done. Candidates will have to carry all the documents, both original and xerox copies to help centres. Also, candidates will be issued a document verification acknowledgement card and verification slip which they will have to retain till the entire admission process gets over.

Following documents need to be carried for verification:

  • Printout of the Karnataka PGCET 2021 application form

  • Karnataka PGCET 2021 Hall ticket

  • GATE 2021 score card (if applying through GATE)

  • Two passport size recent colour photograph

  • SSLC/Class 10 marksheet

  • Class 12/ 2nd PUC marksheet

  • Certificates of class 10 and 12

  • Qualifying exam mark sheet and degree/provisional certificate

  • Category certificate (In case applicable)

  • Income certificate if availing fee waiver

  • Work certificate if applying for M.Tech/M.E./M.Arch Part-Time course

Assigning secret key for choice filling

Candidates who will be eligible for Karnataka PGCET 2021 seat allotment after document verification will be allotted a high security key. All candidates will have used this high security key to login for choice filling.

They need to change their password right after logging through the security key. Students are advised to carefully register their choice as per their order of preference and lock them before the last date, failing which the choices will be locked automatically.

Note: Candidates can enter any number of choices available to them and can also modify the list till final submission.

Mock Karnataka PGCET 2021 Seat Allotment: Mock Round

The mock seat allotment for Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2021 will be conducted to make students familiar with the seat allotment procedure and give them an idea about their seat allotment. Candidates will change/modify their choices based on the result mock allotment. Candidates should note that mock seat allotment will not be the process for allotting seats.

Karnataka PGCET seat allotment 2021 result: First round

Karnataka Exam Authority, the organizing authority of PGCET 2021 will allot the seats on the basis of merit prepared from candidate’s score in PGCET/GATE exam, category and choice filled by them. Seats will be allocated in priority to GATE qualified candidates on all India basis without any reservation.

After the seat allotment GATE qualified candidates, remaining seats will be offered to PGCET/GATE candidates baked on the reservation criteria for Karnataka region in the order of merit. Candidates who will be allotted a seat have an option of withdrawing from counselling after acceptance of the seat or they can move to the 2nd round after accepting the seat or withdraw from the counselling without accepting the seat.

Candidates who will be allotted a seat will have to download the allotment letter and visit the allotted institute within specified date & time, otherwise their admission/seat will be cancelled. Candidates who want to appear in further rounds of counselling will have the option of modifying their choice within a specified date and time.

Karnataka PGCET counselling and seat allotment 2021: Second round

Candidates who will not get any seat in the first round appear for the second round of counselling. All the procedures and criteria remained the same for the second round of seat allotment of Karnataka PGCET 2021. If seats that remain vacant after the final round will be converted into general category. All such seats will be allotted to students under General category in the order of merit.

Reporting to allotted institute:

Candidates who will be allotted a seat after the 1st, 2nd or special round (if any) will have to go to the allotted institute in person directly within specified date & time. They will be issued a seat allotment letter which candidates will be able to download by logging into Karnataka PGCET 2021 Counselling portal.
