CareersToday: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?
Avni: As far as I remember, I did not face any major issues in the institute.

CareersToday: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs etc for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?
Avni: The university offers a vast area for the students to explore themselves and take part in activities. Some of them include DJ nights, competitions like debate, dance, literature etc. There are a lot of clubs and C2S2 is majorly involved in the co-curricular activities. Besides this, the university even provides a chance to get involved in sports and esports even for those who aren’t that good at it. Chitkara Happiness Club recently conducted some competitions that included badminton, chess etc. The university has opened its doors for the nerds by conducting hackathons and workshops etc.

I am a member of the C2S2 Literallys, C2S2 Theatre and organising head in Chitkara Esports Club. I have recently completed my tenure as a PR member at Debating Society and Content Head at ISTE Society.

CareersToday: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?
Avni: To begin with, I wake up at 7 in the morning, have my breakfast at around 8:10 am and reach the campus at approx 8:40. My classes start from 9 am itself and vary till 4:30 pm. During the time I get free from my lectures, I go and hang out with friends for a while and the rest of the day is spent in Explore Hub by me as I am working as a Communication Intern at a startup by Chitkara’s Student himself, i.e. Victory Dome. The college hours get over at 4:30 and I reach home by 5 pm. Having freshened up, I prefer to sleep for an hour after which I get to work, including attending meetings and completing my work in the internships I am currently enrolled in. later I do my assignments and do a bit of self-study.

CareersToday: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.
Avni: To be honest, I have no idea about the faculty-student ratio which is a count, I guess. Talking about their relationship with us, I have observed teachers be friendly, helpful, great motivators for sure and strict at the times it is needed. Besides that, I am very happy with the teachers that they have invited from outside campus to teach us this year. They are amazing human beings as well as teachers. A 2.5 hours class which seemed a lot has been made much easier to attend with them.

CareersToday: What all facilities do you have on campus? What do you like here the most which you feel is unique and differentiating?
Avni: Campus facilities are countless. I am not sure what to include here. Still, some of them are, I guess, good faculty, temperate zones, an amazing variety of food at all the corners of campus, a helpful environment among the students too, and Air-conditioned classes, different blocks for different fields of study etc. My favourite part of the university is Explore Hub and Alpha Zone (in the evening times obviously). Explore Hub is a different vibe and world in itself. It is motivating, energy-boosting and whatnot. I have started spending most of my free time there only and I love it. The architecture, people and ambience are great here.

Avni: People at this university are undoubtedly helpful when it comes to any kind of medical issue. In case of emergency even, they take it very seriously and try to help asap.

CareersToday: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams and other activities?
Avni: While I was in the hostel, I divided my day into hours devoted to certain work. The timings may differ but not the durations because of which I was able to manage my academics and co-curricular activities as well.

CareersToday: Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant are they from your point of view or students' point of view?Avni: There are different types of clubs. Educational ones include IEI, IEEE, ACM etc. which are great on their basis. The extra-curricular ones include the same I have told like C2S2, CEC etc. Being a part of these not only adds value to your experience but enhances a lot of skills which cannot be learnt in a day or from a certain person like communication, teamwork, adaptivity, leadership, standing up to your perspective while considering others’ and many more.

CareersToday: Is there any in-house magazine or journal for the latest events or happenings at the institute?
Avni: I don’t know about this one. I do read the blogs on the website.

CareersToday: Do you have any Facebook page on your campus where the students express their views, jokes or ideas, or maybe even a blog where they write about their experience of life on campus?
Avni: I don’t use Facebook because of which I am not even sure about this but students themselves have made several pages on Instagram where they share polls, reviews, updates etc about the campus and the life at it.

CareersToday: What type of companies come for campus recruitment and what percentage of students are placed annually? How is the recruitment process here?
