TNEA Rank List 2025 -Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu will publish the rank list of TNEA 2025 online. The link to check the TNEA rank list 2025 will be available at tneaonline.org. Preparation of TNEA Rank List 2025

DoTE prepares the TNEA 2025 engineering rank list based on marks secured by the candidates in the prescribed subjects of the qualifying examination. The previous year, the authorities reduced the marks secured by the candidates in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry to the base of 200. The marks in Mathematics have a higher weightage i.e 100 marks while marks in Physics & Chemistry are combined and converted out of 100 marks (Mathematics= 100 & Physics + Chemistry = 100).

In the case of vocational stream candidates, the marks are converted to the base 200. The conversion will be done as

Normalization Method for Preparing TNEA 2025 Rank List

DoTE follows a normalization method to equalize the marks secured by the candidates in the qualifying examination from different boards. The authorities have equated the marks secured by the candidates from different boards with the state board of Tamil Nadu. Students can refer to the following example to understand the normalization method of TNEA 2025.

Example- If the highest marks secured by a student of the State Board of Tamil Nadu in Physics are 100 and the highest marks secured by a student of any other Board in the same subject is 90 then both the highest marks will be considered to be equal to 100. If a student of the other Board secures 60 marks in Physics when the first mark in Physics in the same Board is 90, 60 marks will be considered to be equal to 66.66 marks as arrived below.

(100 x 60)/90 = 66.66 %

After the normalization of marks in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by different Boards, qualified students will be included in a common TNEA rank list.

Inter se Merit of TNEA 2025

The authorities will prepare inter se merit in case of two or more candidates have the same marks in the qualifying examination. The following rule is used to prepare TNEA 2025 inter se merit-

• In case of a tie, a candidate with higher percentage marks in Mathematics will be given a higher rank.

• If the tie still persists, a candidate with higher percentage marks in Physics will be given a higher TNEA rank 2025.

• If the tie still persists, a candidate with higher percentage marks in the fourth optional subject will be given a higher TNEA 2025 rank.

• If the tie still persists, the candidate older in age will be given a higher TNEA rank.

• If the tie still persists, the tie will break based on the TNEA 2025 Random Number. Candidates with higher values of Random Numbers will be given a higher rank.

Candidates shortlisted based on the TNEA 2025 rank will be eligible to participate in the counselling process. The authorities will conduct the TNEA 2025 counselling online mode. During the counselling process, candidates must select their preferred choices of colleges and courses. Final TNEA 2025 seat allotment is based on the rank list, availability of seats, and preferences set by the candidates. The result of the final seat allotment will be released on the official website. Selected candidates have to report to the allotted institutes for payment of admission fees.
