AIBE Exam Eligibility 2024 - Age Limit, Qualification, Minimum Marks

The Bar Council of India prescribes the AIBE 19 eligibility criteria on its official website. Law graduates aspiring to appear for the All India Bar Examination should go through the AIBE eligibility criteria 2024 before applying for the exam. The AIBE 2024 eligibility criteria will include conditions about the minimum educational qualification, AIBE age limit, and more.

BCI will conduct AIBE 19 in offline mode. Candidates who clear the AIBE will be eligible to obtain Certificate of Practice and become advocates. However, it must be noted that if candidates fail to satisfy the AIBE 19 eligibility criteria, then they will not obtain the CoP even if they clear the AIBE exam.

AIBE Eligibility Criteria 2024-25 Details

BCI will notify the All India Bar Examination Eligibility criteria on its official website. The AIBE is open to all law graduates who have completed either a 3-year LLB or 5-year LLB with the minimum AIBE eligibility marks if any. There is no prescribed AIBE age limit. AIBE Eligibility Criteria 2024: Number of attempts

As per the Bar Council of India exam eligibility, there is no limit on the number of times a candidate can appear for the AIBE exam. A candidate can take the All India Bar Examination until he or she clears it. In order to clear the AIBE exam, a candidate must obtain a score of 45%. The AIBE cut off for SC/ST candidates is 40%.

AIBE 19 Eligibility Criteria: Validity of Registration with State Bar Council

The AIBE is a pre enrolment exam. So candidates are required to enrol as advocates with a state bar council. It is a one-time enrollment. By enrolling once, candidates can appear for AIBE any number of times. It must also be noted that the provisional enrolment is valid for two years for becoming an advocate. So, if a candidate clears the AIBE exam after the expiry of two years, then he or she should enroll as advocate with the state bar council yet again.

AIBE Eligibility Criteria 2024 for PwD Candidates

Candidates belonging to the PwD category are allowed extra time to attempt the AIBE. However, to avail this benefit under PwD category, candidates are required to produce the following documents:

  • They must have the required certificates issued by a proper medical authority to prove their disability.

  • They should also meet the specified percentage of disability to be categorized as disabled as per the eligibility for AIBE exam.

AIBE 19 Eligibility Criteria: Exemptions

Candiadtes who obtained their law degree before 2009-10 are exempt from appearing in the All India Bar Examination. Such candidates are allowed to practice law without the need to clear AIBE.

AIBE Eligibility Criteria for Obtaining CoP

Any candidate who obtains the minimum qualifying marks in AIBE becomes eligible to obtain the Certificate of Practice (CoP). BCI has prescribed the qualifying marks in AIBE. Candidates from the general and OBC categories must obtain 45% marks to qualify in the All India Bar Examination. The qualifying marks In AIB for candidates from SC, ST and PwD categories is 40%.

AIBE 19 XIX Application Form 2024

BCI will open the AIBE 19 application form online mode. Candidates would be able to apply for the exam from the official website - barcouncilofindia.org. The application process for AIBE involves steps such as registration, uploading of documents, payment of application fee payment. Successfully registered candidates can download the AIBE admit card online and appear for the exam which will be conducted in offline mode.
