CLAT 2021: The consortium of NLUs has STARTED the CLAT 2021 application correction and test center edit option on July 1; also the list of test centers has been updated with 18 new centers added to the previous list. Using the CLAT 2021 exam center edit option, candidates can change test center preferences. The last date to update test center preferences is July 4 (up to 23:59). The increase in test centre has been done so that candidates can pick a nearby centre and reduce travel time.

CLAT 2021 will be conducted on July 23 (2 pm to 4 pm) in pen-and-paper mode following strict COVID-19 safety protocols. The Descriptive section has been dropped from CLAT PG 2021 (LLM) question paper. The LLM paper will now include only objective-type questions. CLAT 2021 application form is now closed. NLSIU Bangalore introduces a 25% reservation for "Karanataka students."

CLAT 2021 admit cards will be issued a few weeks before the exam and include COVID 19-specific protocols that candidates have to follow, along with exam-day guidelines.

  • July 1: CLAT 2021 test center edit option has commenced; 18 new exam centers added.
  • June 22: NLSIU Bangalore has introduced a 25% horizontal compartmental reservation for students who have studied at least 10 years in an educational institute in Karnataka under the ‘Karnataka Students' category.
  • June 14: If a candidate wishes to change their preferred exam centers, they can do so after the closure of the application form. Exam centre edit window will be notified soon.
  • June 14: CLAT to be held on July 23. The descriptive section dropped from CLAT LLM this year. Exam to be conducted in offline mode.
  • May 15: The consortium announced the postponement of the CLAT 2021, which was scheduled to be held on June 13. Application last date also extended to June 15.
  • April 28: The last date for submission to online applications extended to May 15.
  • April 19: With COVID-19 cases exploding, the consortium announced that the exam date that was announced earlier (June 13) will be reviewed in the first week of May.
  • January 6: To avoid clash with CBSE board exams, the CLAT 2021 exam was postponed. It was scheduled for June 13.

The consortium has added 18 new exam centres to the existing list. Also, CLAT 2021 test center edit option is now open. Using the option, candidates can change CLAT test center preferences and select a nearby location and reduce travel time. Also, an increase in test center means there will be fewer candidates in each center.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2021

The consortium has prescribed the following program-wise eligibility criteria for CLAT 2021.

CLAT UG eligibility criteia

The candidate should have passed Class 12th with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ ST candidates) from a recognized university. Candidates appearing for the board exam in May-June, 2021, are also eligible to apply.

CLAT LLM eligibility criteria

For admission to the LLM the candidates should have completed LLB graduation from a recognized university securing at least:

  • General - 50% aggregate marks
  • SC and ST candidates - 45% aggregate marks

Age limit - There is no age limit for appearing in CLAT.

How to apply for CLAT 2021?

  • CLAT Registration - To access the application form, candidates need to get registered. The CLAT registration can be completed by filling in details like name, mobile, email id, and password.
  • Filling of CLAT application form 2021 - After registration, login again and open the application form.
  • While filling the application form, upload a passport size photo and signature, enter personal information, communication details, and educational details.
  • NLU selection: Select the NLUs in the order of preference and THREE preferred exam centers.
  • Payment of CLAT application fee - Pay the fee using an online payment gateway; credit card, debit card, UPI or net banking facilities are available.

Possibility of online CLAT 2021?

Amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases, the possibility of an online CLAT is also rising. Note that, in the last session, the exam was held in online mode to ensure the safety and protection of candidates. To accommodate an online CLAT, the authorities had also changed the CLAT LLM test pattern by removing the descriptive section and increasing the number of questions in the objective section.

CLAT 2021 - Admit Card

Students who have successfully applied for CLAT exam 2021 can download the admit card. The admit card of CLAT exam can be downloaded through the candidate portal. It will contain details like exam date and time, roll number, and exam day instructions. It is mandatory to carry the admit card and a valid ID proof on exam day.

How to download the CLAT admit card 2021

  • Visit the official website of CLAT; consortiumofnlus.ac.in

  • Enter your mobile number and password

  • On login, the admit card will be displayed on the screen

  • Download and take a printout of the CLAT 2021 hall ticket

  • Check all details mentioned therein

CLAT 2021 - Answer Key

The authorities will release the provisional answer key of CLAT exam 2021 soon after the examination. The answer key of CLAT will contain the answers to the questions asked in the examination. Candidates will be given a few days to raise objections against the provisional answer key for CLAT exam. The final answer key will be released after considering all objections.

CLAT 2021 - Result

The NLU consortium will declare CLAT results on its official portal shortly after the release of the answer keys. Candidates details as well as sectional and overall marks obtained in CLAT 2021 and All India Rank (AIR) will be mentioned in the result . The merit lists for CLAT exam will be prepared on the basis of the result to be used for shortlisting of candidates for admissions. The CLAT score card pdf is required for counselling and admissions.

CLAT 2021 - Merit List

Candidates who have appeared for CLAT exam can access the merit list (UG or PG). The consolidated merit list will contain the roll number and CLAT 2021 scores obtained by the candidates. Candidates will be called for counselling in the order of the CLAT merit rank.

CLAT 2021 - Counselling

Once the merit lists are released, candidates will receive call letters if they are shortlisted for the same. The merit rank obtained in CLAT 2021 will be the basis for shortlisting. Counselling for CLAT exam will be held in three rounds with a separate invite for each round.

The counselling process of CLAT 2021 includes candidates logging in, providing their preferences for NLUs and payment of Rs.50,000 as counselling fee which will be adjusted with the fee once admissions are completed. Seat allotment is the last step in the process followed by admissions.

CLAT Seat Allotment 2021

After each round of counselling, CLAT 2021 seat allotment list is released. Each seat allotment list of CLAT exam (round wise) will list out names of the shortlisted candidates and their CLAT admit card number. Candidates will have to submit the course fee to confirm their admissions. The fee will be minus the counselling fee (Rs 50,000) paid earlier.

CLAT 2021 - Cut Off

Once each round of counselling is completed, the NLU Consortium will release the respective category wise, NLU wise cut off for the round. CLAT cutoff is the last rank that secured admissions to an NLU programme for the particular category. Students can gauge the rank required to avail admissions to their prefered NLU and programme. Recruitment through CLAT 2021

Many public sector undertakings such as IOCI, OIL, PGCIL, BHEL etc. The CLAT PG candidates may apply for such recruitments. To shortlist the candidates, the PSUs will prepare a merit list based on CLAT PG scores of the candidates. Candidates will be able to check all updates regarding PSU recruitments through CLAT in the following section.

PGCIL Recruitment through CLAT 2021

The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has announced recruitment for executive trainee (law) based on CLAT LLM scores. Interested candidates have to appear in CLAT 2021 LLM and apply for the post of executive trainee. There are 9 vacancies in POWERFRID and CTUIL. The application form of PCIL recruitment through CLAT 2021 will be available on May 1. Following the CLAT exam, the PSU will conduct an interview round. The merit list for selection will be prepared based on the candidate's CLAT score and performance in the personal interview.
