CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2022 - The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) announces the eligibility criteria of CLAT 2022 for both integrated LLB and LLM. Candidates who want to appear in the Common Law Admission Test 2022 must fulfil the CLAT eligibility criteria as prescribed by the consortium. CLAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria for integrated LLB

Minimum educational qualification for CLAT 2022

  1. The candidates must have passed Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or institution.

  2. Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam in March/April 2022 are also eligible to appear in CLAT 2022. Such candidates will be required to produce proof of their educational qualification at the time of CLAT counselling and admission process, failing which, their admission will be cancelled.

Minimum marks in required in qualifying exam

  1. The candidate must have secured at least 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination (10+2) or an equivalent grade.

  2. SC and ST category candidates must secure at least 40% marks or equivalent grades in their qualifying examination.

Age Limit for CLAT 2022

There is no age limit for appearing in the Common Law Admission Test.

CLAT LLM Eligibility Criteria 2022

Educational Qualification

The candidate must have completed LLB (5-year or 3-year) from a university recognised by the Bar Council of India.

Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May 2022, are also eligible to apply for CLAT LLM 2022. However, such candidates will have to produce proof of their qualification at the time of counselling and seat allotment.

Minimum Marks required in qualifying examination

  1. The candidate must have secured at least 50% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade in their qualifying exam.

  2. Candidates belonging to SC and ST categories must score at least 45% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade.

Age Limit for CLAT LLM

There is no upper limit for appearing in CLAT 2022 for LLM courses.

CLAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria: Number of attempts

Candidates may note that the consortium has not prescribed any limit for appearing in CLAT 2022. This means candidates can appear in CLAT UG/PG as many times as they want.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2022: Important points to note

  1. Candidates failing to meet the eligibility criteria of CLAT 2022 will be disqualified even if they have cleared the entrance exam. Hence, candidates must read carefully the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the NLU Consortium.

  2. Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam (Class 12 for CLAT UG and final year of graduation for CLAT PG), must secure the minimum required marks. Candidates failing to secure the minimum prescribed marks in the qualifying examination will be disqualified from the CLAT admission process.

  3. Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination will have to submit the marks obtained in the qualifying exam along with the mark sheet/certificate at the time of counselling, failing which, their admission will be cancelled.

  4. Candidates applying under the reserved category, domicile category must submit the documents in support of their claim.

CLAT Application Form 2022

The consortium will release the application form for CLAT 2022 tentatively in the first week of January. Eligible candidates will be able to register and fill the online application form at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. While filling the application form, candidates will be required to provide details such as personal information, communication and educational details, NLU preference and others. Successfully registered candidates will be eligible to appear in CLAT 2022.
