CLAT Exam Pattern 2022 - Mode, Topic Weightage, Number of Questions

CLAT Exam Pattern 2022 - The Consortium of NLUs has released the exam pattern of CLAT 2022 on its official website - consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The CLAT 2022 exam pattern informs about the detailed structure of the exam, including the examination mode, marking scheme, number of questions, test duration, etc. Candidate by consulting the CLAT 2022 can align their preparation as per the exam requirements of the test. As per the CLAT exam pattern, the undergraduate test paper will have 150 questions, while CLAT LLM 2022 paper will have 120 questions. Given the duration of CLAT 2022 is 120 minutes for both the UG and PG exams, speed and accuracy will be of prime importance. The CLAT 2022 exam will be conducted by the Consortium of NLUs for admission to 5-year integrated and one-year LLM courses offered by the 22 participating National Law Universities (NLUs).

Analysis of CLAT Exam Pattern 2022

  1. Passage-based questions - The question paper, not including the Quantitative Techniques section, will have passages of 300-400 words each. Questions will be asked from these passages.

  2. Quantitative section: Instead of passages, this section will have questions based on "short sets of facts or propositions, graphs, or other textual, pictorial, or diagrammatic representations of numerical information."

  3. Descriptive section: There is no subjective/descriptive/essay writing section in CLAT UG and CLAT LLM. It has been dropped from the CLAT pattern for now.

  4. Standard of questions: The undergraduate exam will be of 10+2 standard.

  5. Skills tested - The paper will test the candidate on a number of parameters, including their ability to read, think critically, and do analytical thinking..

  6. Total number of questions and marking scheme - CLAT UG will have 150 objective-type questions, while the LLM paper will have 120 questions. Each question will be of one mark, while for an incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
