Analysis of CLAT Exam Pattern 2022

  1. Passage-based questions - The question paper, not including the Quantitative Techniques section, will have passages of 300-400 words each. Questions will be asked from these passages.

  2. Quantitative section: Instead of passages, this section will have questions based on "short sets of facts or propositions, graphs, or other textual, pictorial, or diagrammatic representations of numerical information."

  3. Descriptive section: Last year the descriptive section was dropped from the CLAT PG exam. So, we have to wait and watch whether the status quo remains, or the descriptive section is again added to the LLM paper.

  4. Standard of questions: The undergraduate exam will be of 10+2 standard.

  5. Skills tested - The paper will test the candidate on a number of parameters, including their ability to read, think critically, and do analytical thinking..

  6. Total number of questions and marking scheme - CLAT UG will have 150 objective-type questions, while LLM paper will have 120 questions. Each question will be of one mark, while for an incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
