CLAT Latest News and Updates 2021 - The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) has announced CLAT 2021 exam date. The national law entrance exam will be held on June 20, 2021, in offline mode. The application form has also been released on January 01, 2021, with the last date to register as of March 31, 2021. Similar to last year, CLAT 2021 is likely to be conducted amid COVID-19 pandemic. However, the mode of the test will be offline instead of an online, computer-based mode. The admission process of CLAT includes a test followed by counselling and seat allotment rounds. Candidates who want to appear in the national level entrance test will have to ensure that they are well aware of the ongoing development. CLAT Syllabus Revised for LLM Course; Essay Section Restored

The consortium has revised the syllabus and pattern of CLAT LLM 2021. Unlike last year, CLAT 2021 LLM will have a descriptive section along with an objective section. It may be noted that CLAT LLM already had a subjective section before the previous session. CLAT 2021 exam postponed avoiding a clash with board exam

The consortium has announced that CLAT 2021 will be conducted on June 13, instead of May 09 as announced earlier. The decision to postpone CLAT 2021 has been taken to avoid the clash with board exams which are likely to be conducted from the first week of May 2021.

Bar Council of India to end one-year LLM program from next session

The BCI has released a set of guidelines for the administration, study and certification of the LLM program:

  • The one-year program will be replaced by a two-year LLM degree.
  • Also, only those who have completed 3-year or 5-year integrated LLB degrees will be eligible to pursue the program.
  • Further, those with 3-year LLB degree must have completed their graduation in any discipline before they enrol in the 3-year law program.
  • A common entrance exam, Post Graduate Common Entrance Test in Law (PGCETL), may be introduced for admission to LLM courses across all law colleges in India. The test will be conducted by BCI or its trust.
  • Until the PGCETL is introduced, law colleges may continue their current admission processes. But once PGCETL is introduced, all law colleges will have to mandatorily use the PGCETL merit list for admitting candidates.

CLAT 2021 - Notification and application form released

The consortium had announced on December 27, 2020, that CLAT 2021 will be held on May 09, 2021. The application form was released on January 1, 2021, at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Candidates may fill and submit the application form till March 31. The application fee of CLAT 2021 is Rs 4000 for all candidates except SC and ST candidates who will have to pay Rs 3500.
