Now we will take a look at the section wise analysis of AP ICET 2019.

AP ICET Analysis 2019 - Analytical Ability

This section was further divided into two areas, Data Sufficiency and Problem Solving. The total number of questions in this section was 75, with 20 in Data Sufficiency and 55 and Problem Solving.

Data Sufficiency – Questions from Numbers dominated the area. Other areas were Mensuration, Profit – Loss, Coordinate Geometry, Equations, Indices and Surds, geometry & Averages. There was no reasoning based question in this section. The difficulty level of this area was moderate to tough.

Data Analysis – This part had three sets on pie chart and table. One question demanded candidates to draw Venn diagram in order to solve the set. The set-based questions were easy, less calculative and not much calculation intensive.

Reasoning – This area included questions on Problem Solving, Coding-Decoding and Date, Time and Arrangement. There were 10 questions from Number Series but no questions were asked from Letter Series. The questions on Analogies were based on numbers and letters. The difficulty level was moderate. Questions on Coding-Decoding were of two types, one was set based and the other type included individual questions.

Other question types were on Clocks, Blood Relations, Symbols & Notations were of easy-moderate difficulty level.

AP ICET 2019 Analysis - Mathematical Ability

The number of questions in this section was 35. This questions from Mathematical Ability was time consuming and tough. There were two new question types that were asked in Pure Maths – SD of discrete series, quadratic equation, where the roots were trigonometric functions. According to T.I.M.E., while there were few questions which could be solved by direct substitution using the formulae, there were lot of questions which were purely based on the application of the concepts rather that direct substitution in the formulae types. The topics from Arithmetic Ability included Indices & Surds, Equations, Ratio and Proportion, Numbers, Number System, Profit & Loss, Time & Work, Geometry and Mensuration.

Some of the topics from Algebra, Geometry and Statistics were Co-ordinate Geometry, Trigonometry, Matrices & Determinants, Sets, Relations, Functions, Limits, Derivatives, Probability, Progression, Binomial & Remainder Theorem, Simple and Quadratic Equations among others.

APICET Analysis 2019 - Communication Ability

This section carried 50 questions from Vocabulary, Grammar and Reading Comprehension areas. The questions were on expected lines.

Vocabulary – There were six questions in this section of easy difficulty level. The question types were fill in the blanks and word substitute.

Functional Grammar – There were 15 questions in this area. The question types included Statements/Conversation and fill in the blanks with suitable verb/phrase/preposition. This area was of easy to moderate difficulty level.

Expected Cutoff

According to the experts of T.I.M.E., the AP ICET cutoff is expected to be lower compared to last year owing to high difficulty level in Mathematical Ability and Analytical Ability sections. The qualifying marks of AP ICET 2019 for General candidates is 25 per cent marks (50 marks out of 200). There is no qualifying marks have been prescribed for SC and ST categories.

Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, the conducting body of AP ICET 2019 on behalf of APSCHE has released the preliminary answer key of APICET 2019 on April 26 after 6:00 p.m. The final answer key and APICET 2019 result will be declared on May 8.
