Factors Determining CAT Cut off 2022
As mentioned above, IIMs (IIM Amritsar, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Rohtak, IIM Raipur, IIM Jammu, IIM Ranchi, and etc) will issue separate CAT cutoffs after the CAT results 2022 are announced. Before releasing the IIM CAT 2022 cutoff, institutes will take into account certain factors. Listed below are some of the key factors considered by IIMs to have been revealed in the previous year’s MBA cutoff.
1. Difficulty level of the question paper
This is one of the main reasons why CAT 2022 is so important. The greater the difficulty level of the CAT question paper, the cutoff will be lower and vice-versa.
2. Number of Test Takers
The total number of candidates appearing in CAT 2022 will have an impact on the CAT cutoff. This will have a direct relationship, i.e. higher CAT test-takers will lead to a higher CAT cutoff, while lower CAT test-takers will have a lower CAT cutoff 2022.
3. Seat availability
The number of seats available at the respective IIMs is also affected by the CAT 2022 cut off. For example, if any IIM has limited seats, the published cutoff of CAT 2022 will be higher for selecting candidates.
4. The reputation of the Institute
Renowned institutes ranked under the NIRF Management Rankings 2022 will set their cut offs higher.
5. Last year's CAT cutoff trends
The IIM CAT cut off 2022 is based on the previous year’s cut offs released by IIMs. The CAT 2022 cutoff maybe somewhere around past cutoff trends.

CAT Qualifying Cut off vs CAT Final Cut off
IIM candidates should be aware of the difference between the two types of CAT cut offs that play an important role in the admission process. There are two types of cut offs: Qualifying CAT cut off (IIM eligible cut Off) and Final CAT cut Off (IIM Call cut off). Below we have listed the differences between the two:
CAT Qualifying Cut Off
Also known as the IIM eligibility cut off for IIM shortlist cut off, these are the minimum marks a candidate must score, so he/ she will be eligible for an interview call from IIMs (WAT/ GD-PI round).
Meeting the qualifying MBA admission cutoff does not mean that the candidate will be selected for the WAT/ GD-PI round.
The qualifying CAT cutoff is fixed before the CAT result announcement.
Qualifying CAT cut off Percentile is announced by each campus in the announcement of the admission criteria and selection process for that academic year.
Qualifying CAT cutoff is over 90 percentile for all IIMs.
The qualifying cutoff contains the CAT sectional cut off and overall cut off.
The qualifying CAT exam cut off for SC is fixed. The CAT exam cut off for OBC/ General is high.

Final CAT Cut off
Also referred to as IIM call cut off, this is the minimum percentage score set by IIMs to select candidates for the WAT/ GD-PI round.
Meeting the final CAT cutoff 2022 does not mean that the candidate will be selected for admission.
The final cutoff will be fixed after CAT 2022 results were announced.
The final CAT cutoff 2022 has not been officially announced yet by any IIM or other top MBA institutes.
The final CAT cutoff will be 99+ percentile for all the best IIMs and 95+ percent for the new IIMs.
The final CAT 2022 cutoff contains sectional cut off and CAT overall percentile.

What after CAT cut off 2022 - Admission Procedure

In the CAT 2022 result, candidates are able to check their CAT raw score vs percentile. The CAT cutoff for IIM will be announced by respective IIMs now that the CAT result 2022 has been declared.
The candidates who are all confused about when and how to start the CAT preparation? are advised to check the strategy and tips followed by the CAT toppers.
CAT Score vs Percentile
Usually, those with more than 80 percentile in CAT 2022 exam will be selected and invited for the exam rounds from the top B-schools in India. The main four ranges are based on the CAT score vs percentile.
95.01 percentile and above
90.01 to 95 percentile
85.01 to 90 percentile
80 to 85 percentile
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) publishes individual CAT exam cutoffs based on the CAT marks. Candidates are further invited for the CAT selection process by IIMs based on the CAT cutoff marks obtained by candidates.
List of Top B-Schools Accepting CAT Scores and Cutoffs
