BDS counselling 2024: Eligibility criteria

To appear for the BDS counselling, candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria. For the 85% state quota seats, the BDS counselling 2024 eligibility criteria is determined by the respective state authorities. However, eligibility criteria for 15% AIQ BDS counselling 2024, candidates are required to meet the below listed eligibility.

• Candidates must have qualified for the NEET 2024 exam with the minimum NEET cutoff score.

• Candidates must have passed class 12 or its equivalent from a recognized board.

• Candidates should have successfully registered online on the MCC’s portal for 15% AIQ seats and on the portal of respective state authorities for 85% state quota seats.

Steps involved in BDS counselling

• Registration: Candidates need to register on the official counselling portal by providing the required information. A registration fee needs to be paid, which varies state-wise and also depending on the category.

• Choice filling and locking: After registrations are completed, candidates must fill in their preferred choices of BDS colleges. Once satisfied with the choices, candidates must lock them before the deadline, if not they are locked automatically. Choices once locked cannot be changed.

• Seat allotment: Based on the NEET scores, choices filled by the candidates and availability of seats, seat allotment is done. The results of the seat allotment will be published on the official website. Candidates need to download the provisional allotment letter.

• Reporting to the allotted institute and document verification: Candidates who are allotted seats must report to the respective colleges within the stipulated time. Candidates must carry their provisional allotment letter, original documents along with the photocopies for document verification process. It is important to ensure that all documents are genuine to avoid any discrepancies. Candidates must pay the admission fee during joining process.
