Earlier, authorities have released the result of NEET MDS 2021 on December 31, 2020. NBE NEET MDS result PDF has been published in the form of a merit list. NEET MDS result 2021 includes the roll number, marks scored out of 960, and the NEET MDS rank of the candidate. NEET MDS 2021 result has been announced for the candidates who have secured the minimum cutoff percentile specified by NBE. NEET MDS cutoff for general/EWS category is 50th percentile and for SC/ST/OBC it is 40th percentile. While the NEET MDS 2021 percentile cutoff scores for general category is 259, while for SC/ST/OBC, it is 227.

The cutoff has been announced along with NEET MDS result 2021 mentioning percentile scores equivalent to percentile. On the basis of the result of NEET MDS 2021, shortlisted candidates are granted admission to 50% All India Quota seats, 50% state quota seats, deemed/central universities, ESIC and private universities. On the basis of cutoff released with NEET MDS result, NBE will prepare the merit list. NEET MDS merit list 2021 for 50% All India Quota seats will mention roll number, AIQ rank, category rank and All India Rank. Candidates who will qualify NEET MDS exam will be called for the counselling process. NEET MDS counselling 2021 will be done by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for 50% AIQ, deemed/central universities, ESIC and AFMS institutes. NEET MDS 2021 result will be used by respective state counselling authorities to grant admission to 50% state quota seats and private institutes. NEET-MDS 2021 was conducted on December 16, 2020 in a computer-based mode for admission to postgraduate Masters of Dental Surgery courses. NBE will release the NEET MDS result 2021 only for eligible applicants who have completed their Bachelors in Dental Surgery (BDS) and have a provisional or permanent registered licence.

NEET MDS 2021 cutoff

NBE has released the cutoff of NEET MDS 2021 percentile for each category, through the official brochure. NEET MDS cut off 2021 is the minimum qualifying percentile which must be secured to pass the entrance exam. NEET MDS qualifying percentile for general/EWS category is 50th percentile, while for SC/ST/OBC, it is 40th percentile. NEET MDS cutoff marks corresponding to the percentile will be announced along with the NEET MDS result 2021. How to download NEET MDS 2021 scorecard

National Board of Examinations or NBE will also release individual scorecards for NEET MDS 2021, 50% AIQ seats. Candidates can check the steps to download NEET MDS scorecard below.

  • You will be directed to a login window.

  • Enter your login credentials - ID and password.

How to calculate NEET MDS 2021 result?

In the NEET MDS 2021 exam, candidates will have to attempt 240 objective questions. Maximum marks as mentioned in the NEET MDS result are 960 marks. As per the exam pattern of NEET MDS, there will be 25% negative marking for incorrect answers. The marking scheme used for NEET MDS result is as follows.

Based on the above discussed marking scheme the total score of candidates is calculated and will be mentioned in the NEET MDS 2021 result. The formula for calculating NEET MDS score is:

NEET MDS marks = (Number of correct answers) x 4 - (Number of incorrect answers) x 1

NEET MDS 2021 result - percentile vs marks

Based on the marks scored by the candidates in NEET MDS result 2021, the percentile for each candidate is calculated. The NEET MDS 2021 result will include the percentile score of each candidate. Only those who will score equal to and above the minimum NEET MDS cutoff percentile will qualify the entrance test. It must be noted that the percentage and percentile of NEET MDS 2021 are completely different to each other.

  • The percentile of the candidate will be used for calculating the merit position of the candidate.

  • The NEET MDS 2021 percentile score of a candidate will indicate the relative position of the candidate with respect to the other participants appearing for the test.

  • A candidate with 100 percentile in NEET MDS result will indicate that the candidate has scored the highest marks in the examination, not full (960) marks.

  • A 100 percentile will also indicate that 100% of candidates scored less than or equal to the candidate.

Types of NEET MDS 2021 result

Based on the NEET MDS result 2021, NBE will allot different ranks to the shortlisted candidates. NEET MDS merit list 2021 will mention the ranks of candidates qualifying for the entrance exam. These ranks are the merit position secured by each candidate in respect to the other candidates who appeared and qualified the NEET MDS 2021 exam. The types of NEET MDS result 2021 are:

NEET MDS rank 2021 : The NEET MDS rank is the rank secured by the candidate amongst all the candidates who appeared for the NEET MDS exam, 2021. The rank is allotted on the basis of scores mentioned in the NEET MDS 2021 result.

All India 50% Quota rank 2021 : Candidates who have qualified the NEET MDS 2021 exam by scoring marks equal to or above the cut off become eligible for admission. Such candidates are allotted an All India 50% Quota rank in the result of NEET MDS 2021. The merit rank is decided on the basis of marks scored by the candidate in the exam.

All India 50% Quota category rank : The All India 50% Quota category rank is allotted against the category opted by the candidate while filling the NEET MDS 2021 application form. The competition in this rank is only among candidates belonging to the same category. The basis of AIQ category rank allotment is also the marks scored in the NEET MDS 2021 test.

NEET MDS result 2021 - tie-breaker criteria

In case of two candidates having the same NEET MDS score, the rank or merit position will be decided based on the below discussed four criteria.

  1. Incorrect responses: Candidate with less number of questions answered wrong will be placed higher in the NEET MDS 2021 merit list.

  2. Higher score: Candidate who scores better marks in the part B of the exam will be awarded a higher rank in NEET MDS result 2021.

  3. Wrong answers in part B: Candidate who manages to get less wrong answers in part B of the NEET MDS question paper will get a higher rank.

  4. Age: Candidates older in age will be placed higher in the NEET MDS 2021 rank list.

What after NEET MDS 2021 result?

After declaring the NEET MDS 2021 result and scorecard the role of NBE in the process ends. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the MCC will conduct the NEET MDS 2021 counselling. NEET MDS qualified candidates will be required to register themselves on MCC official website to participate in the counselling process. Candidates will have to fill their preference of colleges and courses. Seats will be allotted on the basis of NEET MDS 2021 result, merit position, reservation and other criteria. The schedule for NEET MDS counselling 2021 has not been released yet and will be updated as released.
