NEET PG Cutoff 2021 - National Board of Examinations (NBE) has announced the cut off of NEET PG 2021 along with the result. NEET PG 2021 cut off marks for the general category is 302. NEET PG cutoff 2021 scores equivalent to the qualifying percentile will be announced along with the result. Candidates must secure equal to more than NEET PG 2021 cut off percentile and scores. On the basis of NEET PG 2021 cut off, the medical graduates will be shortlisted for 24,547 Doctor of Medicine (MD), 12,780 Master of Surgery (MS) and 922 PG Diploma seats.

Based on NEET PG cut off 2021, NBE will prepare the merit list for qualified candidates. Aspirants securing NEET PG 2021 cutoff will be included in the merit list. Through NEET PG cutoff, qualified candidates will be granted admission to 50% All India Quota (AIQ), 50% state quota, all deemed/central universities, ESIC/AMFS colleges, and private institutes.

Candidates must note that securing the NEET PG cutoff does not guarantee admission into PG medical courses. Aspirants must appear for the NEET PG counselling process on the basis of the NEET PG merit list 2021. NEET PG 2021 cutoff will be determined on the basis factors mentioned below:

NEET PG 2021 Cut off - Percentile vs Marks

As per the official brochure, NEET PG percentile rank shows how well a candidate performed in comparison to others, while percentage tells how better a candidate has performed in the test. NEET PG cutoff percentage mark will tell the merit position of the candidate among others. The percentile rank is commonly used to clarify the interpretation of marks based on standardised tests. To qualify NEET PG 2021 exam, medicos must mandatorily secure the minimum qualifying percentile. Types of NEET PG 2021 Cut off

The cut off of NEET PG 2021 will be considered for admission to the below-mentioned postgraduate medical seats:

  • 50% All India Quota seats (excluding former Jammu & Kashmir state)

  • 50% State Quota seats (including state of Jammu and Kashmir)

NEET PG Cutoff 2021 for 50% All India Quota seats

In order to be included in NEET PG merit list for 50% AIQ seats, aspirants must secure NEET PG cutoff minimum qualifying percentile and marks specified by the authority. NEET PG 2021 cut off 50% AIQ will be the same as the qualifying percentile of NEET PG 2021.

Revision of NEET PG 2021 Cut off

As per the NBE NEET PG brochure, in case of any vacant seats left after completion of all rounds of counselling, the National Medical Commission (NMC) in consultation with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) will revise NEET PG cutoff 2021 for all categories. NEET PG 2020 cut off was reduced by 20 percentile for General, SC, ST, OBC and PwD candidates. NEET PG 2020 revised cutoff for General category was 275. NEET PG 2019 cutoff for general category candidates was lowered to 44th percentile with the 313 corresponding marks. NEET PG Cutoff 2021 - Tie-breaker

This year through NEET PG brochure, NBE has changed the tie-breaking process to calculate NEET PG 2021 cut off. In case of two or more candidates securing equal marks in NEET PG merit list, NBE uses NEET MD/MS tie-breaking process as mentioned below.

  • Greater number of correct responses - Candidates with greater number of correct responses will be placed higher in NEET PG merit list

  • Lesser number of negative responses - If the tie still exists, Aspirants with less number of negative answers will be allotted better rank

  • Age - If the tie exists, the older candidate will be given first preference

  • Higher aggregate marks in MBBS - Candidates securing higher aggregate marks (in percentage) in all MBBS professional examinations will be considered first in NEET PG merit list 2021

NEET PG Counselling 2021

Using NEET PG 2021 cutoff, NBE will release NEET PG merit list 2021 containing merit rank. On the basis of merit rank, candidates will be called for NEET PG 2021 counselling for admission to 50% AIQ seats, 100% seats in deemed/central universities and ESIC/AFMS institutes. In order to appear for the counselling of NEET PG 2021, aspirants need to register themselves using personal, contact and other details. While registering, aspirants have to provide their preferences of colleges as well as courses, in which they wish to get admission. On the basis of these preferences, All India Rank, seats available, reservation criteria and other factors, the admission to MD, MS and PG Diploma courses will be done.
