The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has released the NEET PG paper pattern 2021 along with the brochure on February 23 at nbe.edu.in. As per the recent changes in NEET PG 2021 exam pattern, there will be a total of 200 multiple-choice questions. Earlier, there were 300 questions in NEET PG exam.

Due to the increase in NEET PG questions, the total marks will change. For every correct answer, four marks will be awarded while one mark will be deducted for a wrong attempt. Therefore, as per the NEET PG exam pattern 2021, the total marks is 800, which was 1000 till last year. Earlier on May 3, 2021, PMO has decided to postpone NEET PG 2021 till August 31 in wake of the second wave of COVID-19. NEET PG 2021 will be conducted for admission to 12,690 Master of Surgery (MS), 24,360 Doctor of Medicine (MD) and 922 PG Diploma seats. NEET PG Exam Pattern 2021 - Highlights

It is indispensable for candidates to understand NEET PG 2021 exam pattern before beginning to prepare strategies for the entrance exam preparation. The important details pertaining to the exam pattern are given in the points below.

  • Exam Date and Mode - NEET PG exam date 2021 has been announced as September 11. On the new NEET PG exam date medical PG exam will be conducted in a computer based mode.

  • Language of Exam - The NEET PG exam will be conducted in English language

  • Duration of Exam - The authorities will provide candidates a total of 3 hours 30 minutes in order to answer NEET PG 2021

  • Types of questions and total marks- NEET PG 2021 will consist of multiple choice questions and the maximum marks is 800

  • Total number of questions - As per the exam pattern of NEET PG the question paper will carry 200 questions in total.

  • Number of questions from each section - Earlier, the NEET PG exam was divided under three sections. However, no such distribution has been announced for NEET PG 2021 exam. There will be a total of 200 objective questions in the NEET PG question paper.

  • Marking Scheme - Candidates need to note that as per NEET PG exam pattern 2021 there will be negative marking in the examination. Refer to the table below for marking scheme

  • Questions for review - The NEET PG 2021 exam pattern suggests that candidates will be provided with the option to mark any attempted or unattempted question for review, while giving the examination. By doing this candidate will be provided with the provision of going through these questions once again before the end of the examination and answer them. It is to be noted that the questions marked for review will be evaluated as per NEET PG 2021 marking scheme mentioned above.

  • Subject-wise weightage - The number of questions in NEET PG exam 2021 has been reduced to 200. Questions in NEET PG are asked from MBBS course curriculum. The subject wise distribution for NEET PG 2021 has not been released yet. NEET PG mock test 2021

NBE has released the NEET PG 2021 mock test at the official website - nbe.edu.in. The direct link for NEET PG mock test is provided here. The mock test is the demo test through which candidates can get familiar with the NEET PG exam pattern 2021. NBE releases the NEET PG mock test 2021 for the practice of candidates and to familiarise them with the computer-based mode of the exam. Candidates do not require any NEET PG 2021 login details to attempt the mock test. The NEET PG mock test login credentials are set by default for candidate use.

NEET PG Result 2021

The NBE will announce the NEET PG 2021 result at the official website - nbe.edu.in. NEET PG result will be released in the form of merit list. The result of NEET PG 2021 will mention roll number, marks obtained (out of 800) and All India Rank (AIR). Candidates who will secure the minimum NEET PG qualifying cutoff will pass the entrance exam. Aspirants included in NEET PG 2021 result will be called for counselling process. During the NEET PG counselling, the result will be considered for admission.
