The result of NEET PG 2021 will be released in the form of a merit list and will mention the roll number, marks scored (out of 800), and the rank secured by the candidate. On the basis of NEET PG 2021 score, admission will be granted to 9,953 Doctor of Medicine (MD), 10,821 Master of Surgery (MS), 1,979 PG Diploma and 1,338 DNB CET seats. To be included in www.nbe.edu.in NEET PG 2021 result, aspirants must secure the minimum qualifying cutoff. NEET PG 2021 cutoff for general category candidates is 50th percentile, while for reserved category candidates the cutoff is 40th percentile. Last year as per NEET PG result, as many as 89,549 candidates passed the exam out of 1,60,888 appeared aspirants.

The result of NEET PG 2021 will be valid for one academic year only. NEET PG scorecard 2021 can be downloaded by qualified candidates only. To download the scorecard of NEET PG 2021, enter the user ID and password. NEET PG 2021 score card mentions personal, NEET PG, scores, percentile and other details. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for postgraduate - NEET PG is a national level entrance test conducted for admission to postgraduate courses in the country. Medical graduates are eligible to appear in NEET PG exam. By qualifying NEET PG 2021 candidates become eligible for admission to:

How to calculate NEET PG 2021 result?

During the NEET PG exam, candidates will have to attempt 300 objective questions. NEET PG maximum marks is 800. The result of NEET PG 2021 will be calculated on the basis of the NEET PG marking scheme. The marking scheme specified under NEET PG exam pattern can be checked from the table below.

On the basis of NEET PG marking scheme, the result of NEET PG 2021 will be calculated. For calculation of NEET PG 2021 result, aspirants examine their total number of correct and incorrect responses, as per the marking pattern. NEET PG 2021 scorecard

NBE will release the scorecard of NEET PG 2021 at nbe.edu.in. The NEET PG scorecard will be released for candidates who will qualify the exam by securing marks equivalent to the cutoff. NEET PG scorecard 2021 will display the rank secured by the candidates in the postgraduate medical entrance test. The scorecard will also mention the category wise NEET PG 2021 cutoff. Types of NEET PG 2021 results

As aforesaid, the NEET PG 2021 result will be used for admission to 50% All India Quota seats and state quota seats. The admission process for AIQ seats will be conducted by MCC and for state quota seats by the respective state authorities. The two types of NEET PG results are discussed below:

  1. NEET PG 2021 result for 50% All India Quota seats

The NEET PG result 2021 for AIQ seats will be released by the NBE in PDF format. The result will be released only for candidates who fulfill the NEET PG 2021 eligibility criteria as set by the NBE. NEET PG counselling 2021 for 50% AIQ seats and 100% deemed, central, ESIC, and AFMS seats will be conducted by the DGHS on behalf of MCC. Admission will be granted on the basis of NEET PG result, AIQ rank, marks scored, choices filled, reservation criteria, and number of seats available. The NEET PG cutoff for 50% AIQ and 100% deemed and central universities, AFMS, and ESIC seats is the same as the minimum qualifying percentile specified by NBE.

  1. NEET PG 2021 result for state quota seats

The result of NEET PG 2021 released by NBE will be used by state authorities for admission to respective state quota seats. No state government will conduct any separate entrance test for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses. On the basis of NEET PG result 2021, state merit rank, reservation criteria, choices filled, number of seats and other factors, the counselling for state PG medical admission will be conducted. For securing admission under state quota candidates must qualify the NEET PG 2021 exam and fulfill the respective state eligibility criteria.

NEET PG rank 2021

While releasing the NEET PG result 2021, NBE will release the different ranks secured by the candidate. These ranks will be allotted on the basis of the NEET PG marks and reservation criteria. The different ranks on the basis of NEET PG result are discussed below:

  1. NEET PG 2021 Rank: The merit position secured by a candidate in the NBE NEET PG result amongst all the candidates who appeared in the entrance test is the NEET PG rank 2021. It is allotted entirely on the basis of marks scored by a candidate in the NEET PG result. The overall rank of the candidate in the exam will be mentioned in the NEET PG merit list released by NBE.

  2. All India 50% Quota Rank: Candidates who will fulfill the eligibility criteria set by the MCC will be allotted NEET PG 2021 50% AIQ rank. Candidates securing NEET PG All India 50% quota rank will be allowed to participate in the counselling process. This rank will be mentioned in the AIQ NEET PG merit list released by the NBE.

  3. All India 50% Quota Category Rank: The rank secured by a NEET PG qualified candidate amongst the candidates of the same category as opted by him/her is known as the All India 50% quota category rank.

NEET PG 2021 result tie-breaker criteria

NBE has set some tie-breaking criterias for NEET PG result in case when two or more candidates secure equal marks in the entrance exam. The NEET PG 2021 tie-breaking criteria in the order of preference are discussed below:

  1. Age: Candidate older in age will be placed at a higher merit position in NEET PG result than the younger one.

  2. Less wrong answers in Part A: Candidate who manages to get less answers wrong in part A of the NEET PG question paper will be placed higher.

  3. Higher marks in Part A: Candidate with higher marks in the NEET PG paper part A will be placed higher.

  4. Less incorrect responses in Part B: Candidate who gets less answers wrong in part B of the exam will be placed at a better merit position in the NEET PG result 2021.

  5. Higher marks in Part B: Students with a higher score in part B of the NEET PG exam will get a higher position in the result.

  6. Less number of wrong answers in Part C: Candidate with less wrong answers in part C of the exam will be placed at a higher merit rank in the NEET PG 2021 result.

  7. higher marks in Part C: Candidate who manages to score more marks in part C of the NEET PG paper will be placed at a higher rank.

  8. Less wrong answers in NEET PG 2021 paper: Candidate who gets less number of incorrect answers in the overall paper will be placed at a better position in the NEET PG 2021 merit list.

Validity of NEET PG 2021 result

As per the Post Graduate Medical Education rules stated by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the result of NEET PG will be valid only for a year, that is, for the 2021 session. The NBE NEET PG result cannot be carried forward to the next session. In case candidates qualify the entrance exam however, fail to secure a seat, their NEET PG result 2021 cannot be used for the next session. They will be required to reappear for the NEET PG exam in the next session.

What after NEET PG result 2021?

After declaration of NEET PG 2021 result, counselling will be conducted for qualified candidates. The NEET PG counselling will be conducted separately for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats and remaining 50% state quota seats. The 50% AIQ counseling will be conducted by MCC in an online mode. Whereas the NEET PG 2021 counselling for state quota seats will be conducted by state authorities. During counselling, NEET PG qualified candidates will be required to register online and fill their preferences of courses and colleges. On the basis of NEET PG result 2021 and choices filled by candidates, the seat allotment processing will be conducted. Types of NEET PG counselling

The counselling process will be conducted after the declaration of NEET PG result. Two types counselling of NEET PG 2021 will be conducted - 50% All India Quota counselling and state quota counselling. Check details below:

NEET PG counselling by MCC

The counselling of NEET PG for 50% All India Quota seats will be conducted by DGHS on behalf of MCC. DGHS will release the schedule for counselling after the declaration of NBE NEET PG result. Through NEET PG counselling 2021, admission to 50% AIQ seats in government medical colleges and 100% seats in deemed and central universities and ESIC and AFMS institutions will be granted. Candidates who will qualify the NEET PG exam 2021 will be required to register on the MCC NEET PG counselling portal and fill their choice of specialization and colleges. On the basis of NEET PG 2021 result, choices filled by candidates, and seat matrix, MCC will declare the counselling result. The NEET PG counselling result for 50% AIQ seats will be published on the MCC website in form of a seat allotment list. Authorities will conduct three rounds of NEET PG counselling including a mop-up round.

NEET PG counselling for State Quota

As aforesaid the 50% MD/MS seats in government colleges will be filled through All India Quota NEET PG 2021 counselling. The remaining 50% seats will be filled through state quota NEET PG counselling. Respective state authorities will conduct the counselling of NEET PG 2021 for state quota seats either in online or offline mode. The admission to state quota seats will be granted on the basis of NEET PG result 2021. Only candidates who will qualify the NEET PG cutoff and fulfill the state eligibility criteria will be eligible for state quota admission. NEET PG 2021 qualified candidates will have to register and fill the postgraduate medical admission application form released by the respective state authorities. Registered candidates will be asked to fill their choices of courses and the medical institutions in the state, on the basis of which NEET PG 2021 seat allotment of state quota seats will be conducted.

  • National Board of Examinations will offer admission to DNB courses on the basis of NEET PG 2021 result.

  • 2,256 seats in 16 broad specialities under DNB courses will be filled based on scores in the NEET PG result.
