NEET UG was conducted for admission to 83,125 MBBS and 26,949 BDS seats offered by the government, private, central, and deemed universities located in the state. Apart from MBBS and BDS, on the basis of NEET state merit list 2021, admission will be granted to AYUSH courses and 525 BVSc & AH courses.

The state admission committees will conduct state counselling on the basis of the NEET-UG 2021 state rank list. Admissions to government and private colleges in the state will be done through the NEET 2021 state merit list for the candidates who qualified in the exam.

In order to qualify for NEET 2021, candidates need to secure the minimum qualifying percentile and marks corresponding to it. Also, aspirants included in the state merit list of NEET 2021 will be required to fulfil certain eligibility criteria of the respective state including domicile, qualification, and others. How NEET 2021 state wise rank list will be prepared?

As per the standardized practice, NEET 2021 qualified candidates must go through the eligibility criteria and fill the application forms available either online or offline mode. Based on the details filled in during registration, the authority will prepare and release the state rank list of NEET 2021 on the basis of marks obtained in pen and paper-based exams.

Moreover, many states release the provisional NEET merit list mentioning candidates details. Such aspirants will be required to report at the venue for verification of documents as well as certificates. After the verification process is closed, the state conducting authority will release the final NEET state-wise merit list 2021, which will be used for counselling.

Eligibility criteria for NEET 2021 state-wise merit list

Since, the state medical admission eligibility criteria for domicile, schooling among others varies from others, but it is mandatory for aspirants to complete Class 12 or equivalent examination to pursue MBBS/BAMS/BDS/BUMS or other medical courses through NEET. Along with that, passing NEET by securing the minimum cutoff percentile is also crucial to be considered eligible for admission to 85% state quota seats and private colleges/universities. Highlights of NEET 2021 state wise rank list

  • It must be noted that the state rank list is released after the announcement of NEET result 2021.

  • Before the commencement of the state-level allotment process, states like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will release the list of candidates passing Class 12 from the particular state. The list will be released on the basis of information provided by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

  • All the interested students must fill the application form on or before the last date. Based on that, the provisional NEET state-wise merit list 2021 will be prepared.

  • Such aspirants included in the merit list can report for document verification sessions, generally conducted in offline mode, along with the relevant documents/certificates.

  • Thereafter, the state authority will publish final state merit lists of NEET, which will be the source for calling eligible aspirants for state-level counselling and admission process.

  • States like Tamil Nadu usually releases a separate merit list for government and private colleges for admission to undergraduate medical courses.

  • Most states across India release separate NEET state merit lists 2021 for each round of counselling.

  • Since, the counselling for AFMC, Pune will be done separately, therefore, the merit list for the institute will be released separately by the concerned authorities.

  • MCC will release the NEET merit list 2021 for colleges under Central universities including BHU (Banaras Hindu University), AMU (Aligarh Muslim University), DU (Delhi University), and JMI (Jamia Milia Islamia) for admissions.

NEET State Wise Merit List 2021 - Tiebreaking criteria

In case two or more candidates secure the same marks in the entrance examination and apply in the same state then the below-mentioned tie-breaking criteria will be applied

  • First preference will be given to the candidate who scores higher marks in Biology (Botany + Zoology) in the entrance examination will be allotted a higher rank in NEET 2021 state merit list

  • If the tie remains then-candidate securing higher marks in Chemistry will be preferred

  • The next step will be to give preference to the candidate who gives the fewer incorrect responses

  • The last method will be to select the candidate who is older in age among the ones who have a tie
