Delhi Public School (DPS) Sushant Lok Celebrates Hindi Diwas

Delhi Public School (DPS), Sushant Lok observed Hindi Diwas on August 30 to familiarise students to the significance of Hindi language. A special assembly was held to uphold the importance of Hindi as one of the official languages. DPS Sushant Lok principal, Surender P. Sachdeva, opened the ceremony with a morning prayer, which was followed by students engaging in cultural activities surrounding the theme of Hindi Diwas celebration at DPS school.

DPS Sushant Lok principal urged the students to propagate the message “Hindi hamaari shaan hai; desh ka abhimaan hai’ during Hindi Diwas celebration at DPS School.

DPS Sushant Lok is situated at Gurugram and was commissioned in 2005. The school was founded under the Delhi Public School Society. DPS Sushant Lok is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It has 3,500 students and 200 teachers from pre-nursery to Class 12. DPS Sushant Lok has been conferred the ISA Award by the British Council and the ASSOCHAM award for ‘Best School for Innovation and Value-Education’ in 2014.

Hindi Diwas Celebration takes place every year on September 14 to commemorate the adoption of Hindi as the official language by the Constituent Assembly in 1949. Rajbhasha Week or Hindi Week is observed from September 14 to September 21 to spread awareness about the importance of the Hindi language. The occasion of Hindi Diwas also marked the beginning of giving the ‘Bhasha Samman Award’ to writers who make significant contributions to Indian languages.

DPS Sushant Lok also recently organised a session on financial literacy, in an effort to teach efficient money management to its students.
