# NCERT Solutions for Exercise 8.2 Class 10 Maths Chapter 8 - Introduction to Trigonometry

The Topic of Trigonometric ratios and ratios of particular specific angles is covered in NCERT Solutions for Class 10 Maths exercise 8.2 . The ratios of the sides of a right triangle to their sharp angles are known as trigonometric ratios. The hypotenuse, which is the longest side of the right angle triangle, the perpendicular, which is the opposite side to the right angle triangle's angle, and the base, which is the next side to the right angle triangle's angle are the three sides of the right angle triangle. There are six trigonometric ratios discussed in NCERT syllabus that are sine, cosine, tangent, cosecant, secant, and cotangent .

The sine is the ratio of the opposing side to the hypotenuse of a right angle triangle. The cosine is the ratio of the neighbouring side to the hypotenuse of a right angle triangle. The tangent is the ratio of the opposite side to the adjacent side of a right angle triangle. The cosecant is the multiplicative inverse of sine. Similarly, secant is the multiplicative inverse of cosine. Cotangent is the multiplicative inverse of the tangent.
